Additional information

One study investigating the short-term toxicity of propylparaben to fish is available. The GLP study was conducted under static conditions according to OECD 203 with Danio rerio (Kimmel, 2012). Fish were exposed to nominal concentrations of 1.0, 2.2, 4.6, 10 and 22 mg/L resulting in measured concentrations of 23 mg/L, 8.2 mg/L and 3.4 mg/L. The lowest nominal test concentrations of 1.0 and 2.2 mg/L were not analysed, since these test concentrations were below the 96 h NOEC determined in this test. The LC50 was determined to be 6.4 mg/L and the NOEC was determined to be 3.4 mg/L.
