Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Skin Contact - shower immediately and removed contaminated clothing
Inhalation - Fresh air and rest
Ingestion - Rinse mouth with water and give small amounts of water to drink. Never give an unconscious patient water to drink. Do not induce
vomitting. Seek immediate medical attention
Fire-fighting measures
Special fire fighting procedure - Material decomposes at high temperatures, giving off acrid fumes: therefore breathing apparatus should be worn
Accidental release measures
Protective equipment to be worn for spill - Chemical splash resistant overalls, wellingtons, chemical resistant PVC gauntlets and
visor
Handling and storage
Store away from oxidising agents. This product may attack concrete surfaces, particularly in the presence of water. Storage tank to have flametrap and to be bunded to contain 110% of tank content or as local regulations

Exposure controls / personal protection
Protective equipment for normal operation
Breathing - no protection required
Gloves - protective gloves/gauntlets made of PVC
Eye - wear close fitting goggles or visor when handling, e.g. sampling
Other - wear normal industrial workwear to prevent skin contact
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity - reacts with strong oxidising agents
Reaction with water - very slow hydrolysis to acetic acid and hexanol can occur
Polymerisation hazard - none
Disposal considerations
Packaging - Steel drums can be cleaned and re-used if in good condition, or recycle as scrap metal. IBCs can be either cleaned out, shred and landfill, if permitted or clean, granulate and recycle the plastic granules. The IBC cage can be re-used
