Results and discussion

Any other information on results incl. tables

Table 1: concentration of dimethyl sulfide in the emission gases from main processes of rendering plants

 Process  Factory  Dimethyl sulfide (µg/L)
 Cooking  B  41
   C  29
 Drying  A  0.0004
   C  < 0.0003
 Glue-concentrating  B  0.048
   D  0.021
 Fat-refining  A  0.083
   D  0.034

In the discharged gas from the cooker, much higher concentrations were detected compared with those of other processes.

The discharged gases from glue and fat tanks have nearly the same concentration, that is 0.02 - 0.1 µg/L.

The discharged gas from the drying process had the lowest concentration of content.

Dimethyl sulfide was also measured at the site borderline of the rendering plants, but at very low concentrations (0.0001 to 0.0007 µg/L)
