PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION
- Method: Stock solutions were prepared by solving the test item in acetone.
- Chemical name of vehicle: Acetone

- Concentration of vehicle in test medium: 0.3 mL acetone p.a./L in the first part (concentration range 0.45 - 10.0 mg/L) and 2.2 mL acetone p.a./L in the second part (concentration range 21.5 - 100 mg/L)

TEST ORGANISM
- Common name: Rainbow trout
- Source: Local hatchery (Müller, G. Moringen, Germany); obtained as eyed eggs and hatched in testing facility
- Length at study initiation: At test start the mean body length were 6.5 cm (1st part) and 6.8 cm (2nd part)
- Weight at study initiation: 2.7 g ± 0.7 g (1st part) and 2.8 g ± 0.6 g (2nd part)
- Feeding during test: No food was provided during the study period

ACCLIMATION
- Acclimation period: at least 14 days prior to testing
- Acclimation conditions: In culture tanks on a 16/8 hour light/dark photoperiod
- Type and amount of food: Commercial trout diet diet (Brutfutter FB50, Fischkraftfutter, Wesel, Germany)

Details on results:
At low concentration levels up to 4.65 mg /L fish showed no or only slight differences in behaviour compared to the control group
At a concentration of 10.0 mg /L and higher fish showed severe sublethal effects.
Irregular swimming behaviour was observed at 2.15 mg /L and higher concentrations.
Fish lying on the side, swollen belly or apathetic fish were observed at 10.0 mg Diuron/L and higher concentrations.
Mortality was observed at 21.5 to 100 mg Diuron/L

The LC50 was determined by Probit analysis, moving average or binominal probability, depending on data characteristic.
Sublethal observations / clinical signs:

The mean concentration of the test items was exceeding 80 %. Thus the results were evaluated based on nominal concentrations.
