Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Becker et al. provide a well documented experimental study on the reaction of TDA with hydroxyl radicals under simulated atmospheric conditions.
The rate constants for the indirect photolysis of 2,4-TDA and 2,6-TDA were 1.9x10(-10)cm(3)/(molecule*sec) and 1.0x10(-10)cm(3)/(molecule*sec) respectively.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

For the indirect photolysis of TDA, a tropospheric half-life time of <=2 h and 1h for the 2,6 and 2,4-isomers respectively was calculated assuming a tropospheric hydroxyl radical concentration of 1x106/ml.
