Additional information

Two studies investigating the ready biodegradability of triallyl isocyanurate are available. The key study (2003-0176-DGO) was carried out according to OECD 301A and GLP and used domestic activated sludge. Based on DOC removal, triallyl isocyanurate attained 7% degradation. A supporting study used a mixture of sewage, soil and water as inoculum in a modified MITI-test according to OECD 301C and GLP (98-0398-FGO). In this test, triallyl isocyanurate attained 3% degradation based on O2 consumption and DOC removal, respectively, and 1% degradation based on the analysis of the test material. Both tests included valid parallel analyses of a reference substance. Hence, triallyl isocyanurate can be classified as not readily biodegradable according to the strict OECD criteria.
