EFFECT PARAMETERS MEASURED (with observation intervals if applicable) : mortality after 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours; pH, temperature, dissolved Oxygen at the same time.
At the end of test, the body length and body weight of the test fish of the control were measured.

TEST CONCENTRATIONS
- Spacing factor for test concentrations: not applicable (limit test, test concentration limited by test item's water solubility)
- Range finding study: The log Pow of the test substance was estimated to 13.4, it is considered to have an adsorption. Therefore, the test vessels and membranes were pretreated (supersaturated) before the test. 501.3 mg test substance was prepared and stirred (via magnetic stirrer) in the dark for 72 h at 500 rpm followed by filtration using a 0.45 µm nitrocellulose membrane to make a saturated solution of the test substance in the test water. One concentration of the saturated solution (the measured concentration was below the LOD of 0.274 mg/L) was used. In this test, a blank control of test water was used. Five fishes were observed and dead fish were recorded at 0, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h after test initiation. In the range-finding test, there were no mortalities and abnormalities observed in the fish of the control group and the treatment group during the test.

Conclusions:
There was no acute toxicity of the saturated solution in the limit test. The test results showed that the 96 h LC50 for the test substance to Gobiocypris rarus was higher than the concentration of the saturated solution under the test conditions. Not toxic under test conditions in the range of water solubility.
Executive summary:

According to "Ministry of environmental protection of the people's Republic of China, the guidelines for the testing of chemicals-effects on biotic system, 2013, 203 Fish, OECD 203, the acute toxicity of the test substance to Gobiocypris rarus was determined by a static test. A nominal concentration of 100 mg/L of the test substance was prepared and stirred (via magnetic stirrer) in the dark for 72 h at 500 rpm followed by filtration using 0.45 µm nitrocellulose membrane to make a saturated solution of the test substance in the test water (referred to as "saturated solution" in this report). The octanol/water partition coefficient (log Pow) of the test substance was estimated to 13.4, it is considered to have an adsorption. Therefore, the test vessels and membranes were pretreated (supersaturated) before the test. Based on the results of the range-finding test, the saturated solution was used to perform the limit test with a blank control. The test duration was 96h. No mortality occurred in the control during the test and the dissolved oxygen concentration was greater than 60 % at the air saturation value throughout the test duration. Hence, the test was considered to be valid.

During the test, the measured concentrations of the test substance analyzed by Gas Chromatograph (GC) were below the limit of detection (LOD, LOD = 0.274 mg/L). There were no mortalities and abnormalities observed in the treatment group during the test period. There was no acute toxicity of the saturated solution in the limit test. The test results showed that the 96 h LC50 for the test substance to Gobiocypris rarus was higher than the concentration of the saturated solution (which measured concentration was below LOD, LOD = 0.274 mg/L) under the test conditions.

Description of key information

There was no acute toxicity of the saturated solution in the limit test. The test results showed that the 96 h LC50 for the test substance to Gobiocypris rarus was higher than the concentration of the saturated solution under the test conditions. Not toxic under test conditions in the range of water solubility.
