Additional information

One experimental study investigating the short-term toxicity of diethyleneglycol diformate (CAS 120570-77-6) to marine invertebrates is available (Rowlands, 2008). The study was performed according to ISO 14669:1999(E) under GLP conditions using the marine copepod Acartia tonsa. Five concentrations up to a maximum of nominal 200 mg/L were tested under static conditions. After an exposure of 48 h, a LC50 of 33.1 mg/L and a NOEC of 20 mg/L resulted. Since the substance is susceptible to abiotic hydrolysis (DT50: 1.24 d (pH7) and 2.98 h (pH8) (HYDROWIN v2.00)) the result reflects the effects of the parent substance as well as the hydrolysis products.
