Description of key information

Toxicity to terrestrial plants (Soybean, cucumber and oat) was investigated in a seedling and emergence study conducted to GLP and OECD Guideline 208. DMH was tested at nominal concentrations of 40, 100, 160, 400 and 1000 mg/kg. The lowest EC50 derived was for cucumber which was 990 mg/kg.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for terrestrial plants:
990 mg/kg soil dw

Additional information

The results of the plant test gave an EC50 >1000 mg/kgdwtfor emergence and growth with soybean and oat with the exception of an EC50 of 990 mg/kgdwtfor emergence with cucumber.
