Notes to the physician : Methaeoglobinaemia treated by a specific antidote and oxygen therapy.
Further information : Use appropriate protective equipment when treating a contaminated person. Place contaminated clothing in a sealed bag for disposal.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media
- Suitable : Carbon dioxide (CO2) Powders Foam
- Not suitable : Strong water jet.
Specific hazards : In the event of overheating, uncontrolled decomposition will occur. During combustion: Highly toxic gases are released.
Protection of fire-fighters : Self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Suitable : Carbon dioxide (CO2) Powders Foam
Specific fire fighting methods : Cool down the containers/equipment exposed to heat with a water spray. Stay upwind. Evacuate the personnel away from the fumes. Contain the extinguishing fluids by bunding (the product is hazardous for the environment).
Protection of fire-fighters : Self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective equipment. Do not breathe vapours. Do not approach from downwind. self-contained breathing apparatus. Mark out the contaminated area with signs and prevent access to unauthorized personnel.
Local evacuation is necessary from the vapour emission zone. Shelter from vapours by keeping upwind. Only qualified personnel equipped with suitable protective equipment may intervene. Stop the leak. Turn leaking containers leak-side up to prevent the escape of liquid.
Environmental precautions : Prevent the product from spreading into the environment. Contain the spilled material by bunding (product is hazardous for the environment).
Methods for cleaning up :
- Recovery : Vacuum up the product. Carefully recover the contents of damaged packaging.
- Neutralization : Absorb with absorbent material.
-Cleaning/Decontamination : Wash non-recoverable remainder with large amounts of water. Recover the cleaning water for subsequent disposal.
- Disposal : Dispose of materials or solid residues at an authorized site.

Stability and reactivity

Stability : Very hygroscopic product.
Stable at room temperature provided it is not on contact with air.
Hazardous reactions :
- Conditions to avoid : May polymerise on contact with humidity.
- Materials to avoid : Reacts with: - acids. - oxidizing materials. - reducing materials.
- Hazardous decomposition products : On combustion or on thermal decomposition (pyrolysis) releases:
highly toxic gases. (Hydrofluoric acid). (Nitrogen oxides).
Further information : When store between 7°C and 30°C, the presence of solids points out either the formation of an hydrate or decomposition intermediates (trimer). Never heat such material in order to melt it, danger of violent decomposition.

Disposal considerations
