Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption: screening
Type of information:
(Q)SAR
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: see 'Remark'
Remarks:
Validated QSAR model. The model has no universally accepted definition of model domain, but since the substance is outside the Kow range of the training set (limits of training set: log Kow = -2.11 – 8.12; log Kow of test substance: 11.55), the results should be taken with caution. The definite values may not be fully reliable, but indicate a high adsorption potential, which can be taken into account for further assessments. Therefore, it can be assumed that the adsorption potential of the substance is high.
Justification for type of information:
QSAR prediction: migrated from IUCLID 5.6
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Calculation based on KOCWIN v2.00, Estimation Programs Interface Suite™ for Microsoft® Windows v 4.10. US EPA, United States Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, DC, USA.
GLP compliance:
no

Validated QSAR model. The model has no universally accepted definition of model domain, but since the substance is outside the Kow range of the training set (limits of training set: log Kow = -2.11 – 9.10; log Kow of test substance: 11.55), the results should be taken with caution. The definite values may not be fully reliable, but indicate a high adsorption potential, which can be taken into account for further assessments. Therefore, it can be assumed that the adsorption potential of the substance is high.

Description of key information

log Koc: > 5 (KOCWIN v2.00)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No experimental studies investigating the adsorption/desorption behaviour of Diisodecyl azelate (CAS 28472-97-1) are available. Using KOCWIN Program (v2.00), log Koc values of 7.2 and 6.3 were calculated, based on log Kow and on the molecular conductivity index (MCI), respectively (KOCWIN, 2013). These models have no universally accepted definition of its model domain, but since the substance is outside the Kow range of the training set, the results should be taken with caution. The definite values may not be fully reliable, but indicate a high adsorption potential, which is also to be expected based on the high calculated log Kow value (11.55, KOWWIN v1.68).
