Description of key information
The study has been performed according to OECD guideline 202 resp. EU method C.2 in a GLP certified testing facility.
The study was performed as limit test at with a loading rate of 100 mg/L. The treatment with 400160 showed no toxicity.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
Additional information
To evaluate the toxic potential of 400160 towards Daphnia magna a short-term study has been performed according to OECD guideline 202 resp. EU method C.2 in a GLP certified testing facility.
The study was performed as limit test at with a loading rate of 100 mg/L. The treatment showed no toxicity. None of the animals were immobilized in the control.
Because of the poor solubility in water, the analytical determinations of the test item showed no correlation between nominal and measured concentrations. The measured DOC values in the test solution and in the control were in the range of the limit of quantification. Therefore, the determination of the results was based on the nominal concentrations.
All validity criteria for the test were met. For the estimation of the EC50 of the positive control, the fit showed sufficient statistical correspondence of the data with the dose-response-equation.
The 24h-EC50 of potassium dichromate was determined as 1.3 mg/L, lying within the demanded range of 0.6 – 1.7 mg/L.
The result of the test is considered valid.
The following parameters were determined:NOELR 24h ≥ 100 mg/L
24h EL50 > 100 mg/L
24h EL100 > 100 mg/L
NOELR 48h ≥ 100 mg/L
48h EL50 > 100 mg/L
48h EL100 > 100 mg/L
