In the toxicity control more than 25% biodegradation occured within 14
days (71% based on ThCO2). Therefore, the test substance was assumed not
to inhibit microbial activity. The positive control substance was
biodegraded for 77% within 14 days.
The relative biodegradation values calculated from the measurements
performed during the test period revealed 82% and 89% biodegradation of
1,4 diaminobutane (67%) for A and B, respectively. Furthermore,
biodegradation of 1,4 diaminobutane (67%) of at least 60% was reached
within a 10 -day window. In the toxicity control, 1,4 diaminobutane
(67%) was found no to inhibit microbial activity. Since all criteria for
acceptability of the test were met, this study is considered to be
