In the Klimisch 1 GLP study from Schneider (2001) the boiling temperature of Chloroacetamide was determined according to OECD 103 and EU method A.2, DSC method.

The samples of the test item were weight into aluminum crucibles with perforated lid. These samples were exposed to a temperature /time gradient while the thermal heat flow was recorded. The test was performed twice.

At both tests an exothermal peak directly after and endothermal melting peak was recorded. This exothermal heat flow was caused by decomposition of the test substance. The lowest start of this decomposition reaction was at approximately 135 °C.

Therefore it can be stated that Chloroacetamide has no boiling point. It began to decompose exothermally at approximately 135°C.

The results of this study are considered reliable and relevant for the risk assessment.
