Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

ca. 32 mN/m at 25 °C at concentration 0.008577 g/L
The substance is surface active.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The surface tension was measured using Wilhelmy plates method described in the internal method of BASF (Tensiometer DCAT 11). Due to the surface activity of the test item, it was assumed, that the water solubility of the substance is equal to the CMC value (0.009402 g/L). The surface tension of 26.8 mN/m at 20 °C was measured also in Kintrup study (2012) at the concentration 1 g/L (supporting study). Due to the fact that the water solubility is lower than 1 g/L, the key value of the surface tension is ca. 32 mN/m determined at the concentration 0.008577 g/L.
