Preliminary test- the estimated flash point of OS 1600 was 82 ºC.

Main study- The difference between the results obtained with the two tests was < 2 ºC. From this, it was concluded that the flash point of the test substance is the lowest flash point obtained.

Executive summary:

A flash point test was performed in accordance with EU Method A.9. The flash point of the test substance was determined using a model APM-7 Pensky-Martens closed cup automatic flash point tester. The test substance was protected from light as much as possible. After a preliminary test, the flash point of thest substance was determined to be 82 ºC at 101.3 kPa.

Description of key information

The flash point of OS 1600 was 82 ºC at 101.3 kPa. The flash-point of MPKO, the hydrolysis product of OS1600, was determined to be 69 ºC at 102.1 hPa.
