Endpoint Conclusion:

Justification for classification or non-classification

An in vitro bacterial reverse mutation study has been performed for the substance under registration, which resulted in a positive outcome. SAR profiling information from the OECD Toolbox coupled with predictions made using the TIMES in vitro chromosomal aberration model and in vivo micronucleus model, as well as available empirical data from the skin sensitisation assay all suggest that the test substance could be positive in other standard genotoxicity assays. As part of a precautionary approach, the test substance is classified for genetic toxicity as Cat 2 (H341: Suspected of causing genetic defects) according to EU Classification, Labelling, and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 and Xn; R68 (Possible risk of irreversible effects) according to EU Directive 67/548/EEC.
