Description of key information

Biodegradation simulation testing in soil was waived. According to Regulation (EC) No.1907/2006, Annexes IX and X, Column 2, further testing on biodegradation in soil shall be proposed if the Chemical Safety Assessment according to Annex 1 indicates the need to investigate further the degradation of the substance or its degradation products, or if direct and indirect exposure to the relevant environmental compartment is unlikely. The log Koc for 4VP is 2.3414; this value falls within the range of log Koc values (1.5 to 2.5) which indicate that the compound does not have the potential to sorb strongly onto soil. The risk characterisation ratio in the chemical safety assessment is below 1.0, and so there is no need to investigate this further.
