Under all conditions / storage times, the samples were described as being a clear colourless liquid; the sample stored at

-80.7 °C had become slightly viscous after both the one and two hours storage period. Based on this very low freezing point no further testing was undertaken. This is in conformity with the ECHA endpoint specific guidance (R.7a) which indicates -20 °C to be the lower limit of the testing range.

Conclusions:
The freezing temperature of the substance was concluded to be below -81 °C under ambient conditions.

Description of key information

The freezing point of the test substance was determined in a GLP study according to test methods EC A.1 and OECD 102 to be below -81°C (Van der Baan-Treur, 2003).
