First-aid measures

General Advice
- contains milk, may trigger an allergic reaction

Eye contact
- rinse cautiously with tap water for several minutes - open eyelids forcibly
- remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing
- immediately call a POISON CENTER/ doctor

Skin contact
- remove immediately contaminated clothes, wash affected skin with plenty of water and soap
- if skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention

Inhalation
- Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing
- If experiencing respiratory symptoms: Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed:
- causes skin irritation
- may cause allergy or asthma symptoms or breathing difficulties if inhaled
- causes serious eye damage

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed - Note to physician:
- treat symptomatically
- because of its high milk protein content allergic reactions may occur in sensitive individuals

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media
- Water Spray Jet, Foam, ABC-Powder, CO2. Extinguish starting at the edge of the fire

- use breathing apparatus with independent air supply

Advice for firefighters - Protection of fire-fighters:
- use self-contained breathing apparatus
- limit the action force in the danger area
- avoid generating dust; fine dust dispersed in air in sufficient concentrations, and in the presence of an ignition source is a potential dust explosion hazard.

Precautions for safe handling:
- Minimize dust generation and accumulation.
- Routine housekeeping should be instituted to ensure that dusts do not accumulate on surfaces.
- Dry powders can build static electricity charges when subjected to the friction of transfer and mixing operations. Provide adequate precautions, such as electrical grounding and bonding, or inert atmospheres.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Technical protection:
- It is recommended that all dust control equipment such as local exhaust ventilation and material transport systems involved in handling of this product contain explosion relief vents or an explosion suppression system or an oxygendeficient environment.
- Ensure that dust-handling systems (such as exhaust ducts, dust collectors, vessels, and processing equipment) are designed in a manner to prevent the escape of dust into the work area (i.e., there is no leakage from the equipment).

Organisational measures:
- Permit to work for maintenance work;
- Access restriction to certain/specific workplaces
- General good hygiene and housekeeping; Personal hygiene
- Regular cleaning of equipment and work area;
- Limitation of quantity used / applied per time unit
- Hazardous area classification
- Employment restrictions for pregnant workers, workers who have recently given birth and nursing mothers in accordance with Directive 92/85/EEC and the respective national provisions are to be observed.
- Any measure to eliminate exposure should be considered;
- Very high level of containment required, except for short term exposures e.g. taking samples;
- Design closed system to allow for easy maintenance;
- If possible keep equipment under negative pressure;
- Ensure all equipment well maintained;
- Management/supervision in place to check that the RMMs in place are being used correctly and OCs followed;
- Training for staff on good practice;
- Procedures and training for emergency decontamination and disposal;
- Recording of any 'near miss' situations.

General protective and hygiene measures:

- ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace

- in case of intensive or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device in accordance with the standard EN143

- protective gloves (Protective gloves must be compliant with the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and be in accordance with the standard EN374. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation.)
