Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Inhalation

Remove the victim from the place of exposure. Provide calm. If symptoms persist consult seek medical attention.

Skin contact

Remove all contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash skin with plenty of warm water and soap. In case an allergic reaction develops seek medical attention.

Eye contact

Keep the eyelids widely apart and flush eyes with plenty of cool water for at least 15 minutes. If possible remove contact lenses (if they did not adhere to the eye). Seek medical attention.

Swallow

Provide calm. Seek medical attention. Symptomatic treatment is recommended.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Upon skin contact Atlen SK may produce skin sensitization. No delayed effects are known.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Any specific treatment is not known.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing powders, carbon dioxide, foam, water spray.

Unsuitable extinguishing media

Water jet.

Special hazards arising from the substance

Any special hazards arising from the substance are not known.

Advice for firefighters

Tanks exposed to fire cool down with water from safe distance. Use protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

For non-emergency personnel

 Avoid contact with the substance.

For emergency responders

 Wear recommended personal protection equipment.

Environmental precautions

Prevent the product from entering drains, surface and ground water and soil.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up

Spill containment

If possible place damaged packaging in a salvage drum. In case of leaks from storage tanks embank releasing liquid with sand.

Spill clean-up

Absorb the substance using an inert (preferably non-combustible) material (sand etc.). Collect material to properly labelled and covered container and reuse or dispose of in accordance with regulations in force. In case of large spill pump released liquid over to tanks or drums.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Observe basic regulations of safety and hygiene as well as operating instructions at the workplace.

Do not eat, drink and smoke when handling the substance.

Use recommended personal protective equipment.

Where applicable handle under local exhaust ventilation.

Disposal considerations

Primary, waste of this substance should be recovered. Wastes, which could not be recovered should be biologically, chemically or physically transformed or eventually stored on landfill.

Landfilling should be performed only for those wastes, destruction of which is technically impossible or ecologically or economically unjustified.

Recovery or destruction of product wastes has to be performed according to regulations in force, in a special assigned facility or equipment meeting the appropriate requirements.

Returnable packaging may be reused after decontamination.

Disposable packaging have to be disposed of in accordance with existing national, international and/or local disposal regulations.

Example waste code: used containers, rigorously scraped out and containing dried residues of the supplied product:

15 01 02 plastic packaging.

15 01 04 metal packaging.

"Rigorously scraped out" means that the maximum amount of product has been removed from the container by physical or mechanical means (draining or scraping) to leave a residue or contamination that cannot be removed by such means.

These codes have been assigned basing on the actual composition of the product both as supplied and as dried residues. If mixed with other wastes, the waste codes quoted may not be applicable.
