Additional information

Short description of key information:
In vitro:
In an Ames test all bacterial strains showed negative responses over the entire dose range, i.e. no significant dose-related increase in the number of revertants in two independently repeated experiments. Complexation products of sodium tartrate with iron trichloride is not clastogenic in human lymphocytes and also it is not mutagenic in the TK mutation test system.
In vivo:
The test item was considered to be non-mutagenic under the conditions of a in vivo micronucleus test in mice.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is negative in an OECD 471, 473 and 476 assay. Therefore classification is not warranted.
