Administrative data

First-aid measures

- After inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Keep patient warm and at rest. Call a physician immediately.

- After skin contact: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water.

- After eye contact: In case of contact with eyes rinse thoroughly with water. Call a physician immediately.

- After swallowing: Do not induce vomiting. Wash out mouth with water. Call a physician immediately.

- general advice: Move out of dangerous area. If the patient is likely to become unconscious, place and transport in stable sideways position. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately.

- treatment: Elementary aid, decontamination and symptomatic treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing agents: water spray, carbon dioxide (CO2), foam, sand

- Special hazards caused by the material, its products of combustion or resulting gases: hydrogen chloride (HCl), hydrogen cyanide (hydrocyanic acid), carbon monoxide (CO)

sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx)

- Protective equipment: In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Use breathing apparatus.

- Additional information: Contain the spread of the fire-fighting media. Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Accidental release measures

- Person-related safety precautions: Avoid contact with spilled product or contaminated surfaces. Wear personal protective equipment. Unprotected persons must be kept away. Keep away sources of ignition.

- Measures for environmental protection: Do not discharge into the drains/surface water/groundwater.

- Measures for cleaning/collecting: Use mechanical handling equipment. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations. Pack spilled material in suitable containers for recovery or disposal.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with  REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4).  Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.

Personal precautions while handling the product:

- respiratory protection: If product is handled while not enclosed, and if skin contact may occur: Dust mask

- eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields

- hand/skin/body protection: Wear CE Marked (or equivalent) nitrile rubber gloves (minimum thickness 0,40 mm). Wash when contaminated. Dispose of when contaminated inside, when perforated or when contamination outside cannot be removed.

- Hygene measures: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Keep working clothes separately.Wash hands always before eating, drinking, smoking or using the toilet. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again. Garments that cannot be cleaned must be destroyed (burnt).

During the whole life cycle of the substance all necessary measures in accordance to art. 18(4) of (EC) 1907/2006 are undertaken. The substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions.

Waste air from the process is being treated thermally.

Solvents used during the process are being recycled.

Organic waste from the process is being burnt.
