Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If symptoms develop consult a medical practitioner.
Eyes: Bathe the eye with running water for 15 minutes, ensuring that the wash does not enter uncontaminated eye. If symptoms develop, consult a medical practitioner.
Skin: Remove all contaminated clothing immediately unless stuck to skin. Drench the affected area with running water for at least 10 minutes. Consult a medical practitioner.
Ingestion: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. If conscious, wash out mouth with water and give half a litre of water to drink. Consult a medical practitioner immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: Suitable extinguishing media for the surrounding fire should be used.
Exposure hazards: In combustion emits toxic fumes.
Advice for fire-fighters: Self-contained breathing apparatus, protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: If outside do not approach from downwind, keep bystanders upwind and away from danger point. Mark out the contaminated area with signs and prevent access to unauthorised personnel.
Contain spillage using bunding. Turn leaking containers leak-side up to prevent the escape of liquid. Absorb spillage onto inert material (soil, sand or proprietary absorbent material) and place into marked and sealed containers. Dispose of containers under national or local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling requirements: Avoid direct contact with the substance. Ensure there is sufficient ventilation of the area.
Storage conditions: Store in a cool, well ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

1. Technical protection measures: Ensure there insufficient ventilation of the area.
2. Hand protection: Impermeable gloves
3. Skin protection: Impermeable protective clothing
4. Eye protection: Safety glasses and ensure there is an eye bath to hand.
5. Respiratory protection: Self-contained breathing apparatus must be available in case of emergency.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: Stable under recommended transport and storage conditions.
Chemical Stability: stable under normal conditions.
Hazardous Reactions: Hazardous reactions will not occur under normal transport or storage conditions. Decomposition may occur on exposure to conditions or materials listed below:
Heat
Strong oxidising agents
Strong acids

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: [A618] Recovery by extraction.
Inhibitor AHM P500 may be extracted from contaminated water using toluene as a solvent. The toluene may then be distilled off.

The 'hazardous' effects are not severe and removal from exposure will result in a reversal of any effects.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: [A661] Incinerator with flue gas scrubbing.

Avoid discharge into rivers or drains. The user’s attention is drawn to the possible existence of regional or national regulations regarding disposal.
