Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If inhaled, remove to fresh air. Remove any contaminated
clothing.
Emergency measure - Eyes: In case of eye contact, immediately flush affected area with
large amounts of water for a period of at least 15 minutes.
Emergency measure - Skin: In case of skin contact, immediately flush affected area
with large amounts of water for a period of at least 15
minutes.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If ingested, give copious amounts of water. Do not induce
vomiting. Seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry powder, carbon dioxide or chemical foam extinguishers
(NOT WATER).

Product arising from burning: Although the substance does not present an special fire
hazard in normal use, it could burn or could contribute to
an existing fire evolving noxious fumes (eg carbon and
nitrogen oxides as well as ammonia and silicon containing
compounds.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn to prevent contact with skin and
eyes.

Fight the fire from a safe distance or protected location.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to
the relevant national or international standards, as
mentioned in section 2.3.10.

Spill/clean-up: Mix with sand or other bulking agent, sweep
up and keep in tightly closed container for disposal.

Wash spill site with water after pickup is complete.

Dispose of waste material in accordance with local
regulations by incineration.

Avoid release to watercours, sewers, soil or groundwater.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used under
conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with
any local regulations in order to avoid exposure.

Avoid ingestion, skin and eye contact.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows;

*Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374

*Chemical protective clothing to Standard EN368

*Eye protection to Standard EN166.

Furthermore, when respiratory protective equipment has to be
used, it must be capable of adequately controlling
exposure, be suitable for the purpose, and conform to the
appropriate international or national standards, such as a
dust mask conforming to EN149 FFP1.

These measures should be regarded as a minimum.

Storage: Container requirements: Store in clearly labeled containers
until they can be given to an approved, licensed contractor
for disposal in accordance with all national, state and
local laws/regulations.

Store in cool, dry conditions in a well-ventilated place.
Keep away from all sources of heat and/or ignition. store in
clearly labeled containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Substance is a liquid at ambient temperature, and is
supplied in 20 kg metal drums.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Hazardous polymerization: will not occur.

Explosion data relative to mechanical impact and static
discharge: No specific data; not expected to be a hazard.

Conditions of reactivity: Not a fire hazard.

Incompatibilities: Strong oxidizing agents and acids.

Chemical reaction with water: None which is hazardous.

Dust explosion: Not applicable as substance is a liquid.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: There will be no discharge to the environment. Recovery from
minor spillages or accidental discharge is not economically
or technically feasible, and such waste material will be
disposed of by incineration.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the
hazardous health properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed
with inert material (eg. sand or soil) may be disposed of by
incineration in accordance with local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance will be disposed of by incineration by burning
under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment
processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases
should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg. carbon and
nitrogen oxides and ammonium and silicon containing
compounds could be formed.)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly
tothe sewage system or the aqueous environment.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: None.
