Short-term toxicity to fish

ADONA toxicity was studied in two fish species, Danio rerio (Zebra-fish) and Cyprinus carpio (Carp). ADONA is water soluble and analysis of the highest concentration in both studies showed that measured concentrations were stable and in agreement with nominal concentrations during the 96-hour test period, therefore the effect parameters referenced the nominal concentrations that had been corrected for the purity of the active ingredient. The 96-hour LC50 of ADONA to Danio rerio was > 100 mg/L (active ingredient) based on no observed mortality and no observed sublethal effects at the highest concentration tested. The 96-hour LC50 of ADONA to Cyprinus carpio was > 1012 mg/L (active ingredient) based on no observed mortality and no observed sublethal effects at the highest concentration tested.

Both studies were performed in accordance with internationally-accepted test guidelines and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards. Therefore, the studies are reliable without restrictions and the results suitable for purposes of Risk Assessment, Classification & Labeling, and PBT Analysis. The guideline for both studies was based on the OECD 203 test method and met the test methods described in the EEC directive 92/96, Part C, Pub No. L383, C.1 and ISO International Standard 7346-1, Part 1. Thus, ADONA is classified as not acutely toxic to fish in accordance with the classification system of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and Not Classified - conclusive but not sufficient for classification in accordance with the EU classification, labelling and packaging system (CLP).
