Conclusions:
For EU classification, it is extremely flammable. However, based on expert internal assessments, the substance requires a substantial ignition energy and therefore is not expected to constitute risk under normal forseeable conditions of use.

Based on these results the lower flammability limit is expected to be between 8% and 10% (w/w) and the upper flammability limit lower than 14%. Based on additional testing using a methodology that deviates from the A.11 method (ASTM E681-04), the registrant has selected a lower flammability limit of 6.2% and the upper flammability limit at 12.3%.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the available information, the substance meets the criteria for Flammable gas Category 1A. However, as the substance is not considered to be pyrophoric nor chemically unstable, and has at least a lower flammability limit of more than 6%, the substance will be classified as Flammable gas Category 1B (H221) in accordance with the 12th ATP of the Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP Regulation).
