Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Immediately move victim to a place with fresh air and keep
patient at rest.

Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately irrigate eyes thoroughly with copious amounts of
water for at least 15 minutes. Seek immediate medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Rinse the affected
area thoroughly with running water and wash with soap and
water. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry powder, foam or carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: Oxides of carbon, nitrogen, sulphur & HF

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.

Fight the fire from a safe distance or protected location.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment to prevent
contact with skin. This protective equipment must conform to
the relevant national or international standards, as
mentioned in section 2.3.10.

Segregate and sweep up spillages with a suitable absorbent
or an inert material (e.g. sand or soil). Carefully transfer
the spillage to waste containers, or use a sealed
industrial vacuum machine. Containers filled with waste
material must be labeled in the same way as the original
substance containers.

Waste material will be disposed of by incineration, in
accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: The material should be handled in closed containers where
possible. Otherwise, use appropriate local exhaust
ventilation (LEV) or perform work in a fume cupboard.

The substance will be handled and used under conditions of
good industrial hygiene and in conformity with any local
regulations in order to avoid exposure by professionals
handling the substance. Maintenance and plant cleaning crews
will not be exposed to the substance.

Engineering controls will be in place if necessary in order
to reduce exposure to the substance.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled,
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows:

Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374

Chemical protective clothing to Standard EN368

Eye protection to Standard EN166.

Furthermore, when respiratory and breathing protective
equipment has to be used, it must be capable of adequately
controlling exposure, be suitable for the purpose, and
conform to the appropriate international or national
standard.

These measures should be regarded as a minimum.

Storage: Store in amber glass jars or polypropylene containers,
tightly close. Keep the containers at 2-8 Deg C and in a
dark place.

Always keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be supplied in amber glass jars or packed
in two polythene bags, inside a polypropylene "CurtecTM"
containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported

Chemical reaction with water: None reported

Dust explosion: Under normal conditions of use this material does not
present a significant explosion hazard. However, like most
organic compounds, it is combustible and may form a dust
explosion if widely dispersed in air.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Any recovery or recycling of the substance from use is
unlikely to be feasible.

Recovery from minor spillages or accidental discharge is not
economically feasible, and such waste material will be
disposed of by incineration.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not reported.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: All organic waste generated during production is incinerated
externally, as special waste, by authorised waste treatment
specialist in accordance with local regulations.

Aqueous waste from production, containing traces of product
or precursors, is disposed of externally as special waste,
by chemical treatment by authorised waste treatment
specialist in accordance with local regulations.

Aqueous streams containing the product from use by industry
and skilled trades should be disposed of by incineration or
by chemical treatment, carried out by an authorised waste
treatment contractor.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Both organic waste and waste solvents used in the
manufacturing process are incinerated.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Care should be taken to avoid the material from entering the
water course.

The substance should not normally be discharged directly to
the sewage system or the aqueous environment. However,
adverse effects on sewage treatment systems should be
negligible at this level of supply.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: None.
