Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General advice:
Remove contaminated clothing.
On skin contact:
Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. If a person feels unwell or symptoms of skin irritation appear, consult a physician. For hot product, immediately immerse in or flush affected area with large amounts of cold water to
dissipate heat. Cover with clean cotton sheeting or gauze and get prompt medical attention.
On contact with eyes:
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 20 minutes retracting eyelids often. Tilt the head to prevent chemical from transferring to the uncontaminated eye. Get immediate medical attention if symptoms of burning, pain, and/or vision impairment remain. After initial flushing, remove
any contact lenses.
On ingestion:
Do not induce vomiting. Call a physician or Poison Control Center immediately. Never administer anything by mouth if a victim is losing
consciousness, is unconscious, or is convulsing.
On inhalation:
Vapours are toxic when inhaled. Move to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, have a trained individual give oxygen. Immediate medical attention is required.
Note to physician:
Treatment: Treat according to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions).

Fire-fighting measures

Hazards from combustion products:
Fire will produce dense black smoke containing hazardous combustion products, carbon oxides, hydrocarbon fragments.
Suitable extinguishing media:
Dry chemical, water spray mist or foam, carbon dioxide (CO2), alcohol-resistant foam.
Special protective equipment:
Do not enter fire area without proper protection including self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective equipment. Fight fire from a safe
distance and a protected location due to the potential of hazardous vapors and decomposition products.
Further information:
The degree of risk is governed by the burning substance and the fire conditions. Contaminated extinguishing water must be disposed of in
accordance with official regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Environmental precautions:
Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Should not be released into the environment.
Methods for cleaning up or taking up:
Prevent the spread of any spill to minimize harm to human health and the environment if safe to do so. Dike with suitable absorbent material like
granulated clay. Gather and store in a sealed container pending a waste disposal evaluation. Evacuate the area promptly. Avoid dispersal of dust in
the air (i.e., clearing dust surfaces with compressed air).

Handling and storage

Engineering measures to reduce exposure: Use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to control airborne
levels below recommended explosive limits and exposure limits. Use good industrial hygiene measures to avoid dust and opportunity for skin
contact. Wet material may dry and result in airborne dust above recommended exposure limits or migration onto surfaces where spreading and
skin contact is likely.
Handling:
Wear complete and proper personal protective equipment following the recommendation of Section 8 at a minimum.
Harmful or irritating material. Wear chemically resistant gloves. Inspect gloves for chemical break-through and replace at regular intervals. Wash
hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water before eating, drinking, and when leaving work. Use only in area provided with appropriate
exhaust ventilation. Avoid dust formation. Minimize dust generation and accumulation. Routine housekeeping should be instituted to ensure that
dusts do not accumulate on surfaces. Dry powders can build static electricity charges when subjected to the friction of transfer and mixing
operations. Provide adequate precautions, such as electrical grounding and bonding, or inert atmospheres. employ bonding, grounding, venting and
explosion relief provisions in accordance with accepted engineering practices. No smoking.
Hygiene measures: Wash hands and exposed areas before eating, drinking, smoking and when leaving work.
Eye protection: Standard safety glasses with side-shields or full-face-shield is satisfactory.
Contact lens use: As with any potentially irritating material exposure, lodging of material between contact lens and eye is a small risk. Should
symptoms of irritation develop in the contact lens user, lenses should be removed, eyes should be irrigated and follow-up should be made with a
physician to advise on acute care, treatment and continued contact lens use in exposure situations.
Respiratory protection: : In case of insufficient ventilation wear suitable respiratory equipment. Vapours are heavier than air and can cause
suffocation by reducing oxygen available for breathing.
Body protection: Long sleeved clothing, impervious gloves, solvent-resistant apron, If splashes are likely to occur, wear, flame retardant protective
clothing, solvent-resistant apron and boots.
Protection against fire and explosion:
Material is not sensitive to mechanical impact, but is sensitive to static discharge under dust cloud conditions.
Storage:
Keep in a dry, cool place. Keep away from heat sources and sources of ignition. Material is stable and not reactive under recommended storage and
handling conditions.
Conditions to avoid: Avoid sparks, open flames, hot surfaces, other ignition sources, static buildup and elevated temperatures.
Materials to avoid: strong oxidizing agents.
Hazardous decomposition products: phenols, alkylphenols, hydrocarbons, Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide (CO2), and lesser potential traces of phenylisocyanate and other amide decomposition products.
Waste disposal: Recycling is encouraged. Place in tightly sealed, labeled containers for disposal in accordance with federal, state and local
requirements. Landfill or incinerate in accordance with federal, state and local requirements. Mixing spent or discarded material with other materials may render the mixture hazardous. Perform a hazardous waste determination on mixtures
