Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse eyes thoroughly for at least 15 minutes with clean

water. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing (launder before re-use). Rinse

affected area thoroughly for at least 15 minutes. If

irritation persists seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water fog or foam may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

sodium together with some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing.

Material is readily dispersible in water which may result in

an effluent discharge with elevated colour and suspended

solids. Prevent material from entering sewers or other

waterways.

Absorb spillages of dispersions with a suitable inert

material (eg. sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage

to suitably labelled waste containers, or use a sealed

industrial vacuum machine. Clean the spillage area with

water and detergent.

Dispose of waste material by incineration in accordance with

local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used in

conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with

any local regulations in order to avoid exposure by

ingestion and skin contact.

Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the

substance.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled

appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate

international or national standards ie. chemical protective

gloves, chemical resistant clothing, eye protection.

When necessary appropriate respiratory protection should be

used.

Storage: Store in tightly sealed containers in a dry well-ventilated

area.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Substance will be used in an ink formulation contained in a

print cartridge.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: Not anticipated based on analogy to carbon black and lack of

reactive functional groups.

Furthermore, the substance is only imported into the EU as

an aqueous dispersion.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with

inert material (eg sand or soil) may be disposed of in

accordance with local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration in

accordance with local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly to

the sewage system or the aqueous environment and can be

treated with standard technologies. However, if

inadvertantly discharged, adverse effects on sewage

treatment systems would be unlikely.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Not applicable.
