Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment. Seek
immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 15
minutes.
Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately remove any contaminated clothing. Rinse
contaminated areas with soap and plenty of water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry powder and foam may be used.

Do not use water or halides.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulfur together with metal oxide smoke.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity. Wear suitable
protective clothing (see 2.3.1).

Absorb spillages with a suitable inert material (eg. sand,
dry-lime or soda ash). Carefully transfer the spillage to
labelled waste containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum
machine. Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

Ventilate the spillage area and clean with detergent and
water. Do not discharge wastes to drain.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be handled under conditions of good
industrial hygiene and in conformity with any local
regulations in order to avoid exposure.

Ensure adequate ventilation. Protective equipment should
conform to the appropriate international or national
standards as follows;

chemical protective gloves (Standard prEN374)

chemical protective clothing (Standard EN368)

eye protection (Standard prEN166)

Furthermore, when respiratory protective equipment has to be
used, it must be capable of adequately controlling exposure,
be suitable for the purpose, and conform to the appropriate
international or national standards.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place,
above 0 deg C.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 25 litre UN approved plastic "square-round" kegs with 2 inch
screw bung and moulded handle.

hydrogen peroxide, azides, perchlorates, nitromethane,
phosphorous, nitrites.

Violent reaction with:

cyclopentadiene, cyclopentanone oxime, nitroaryl amines,
hexalthium disilicide, phosphorous (III) oxide.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: Not applicable.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended because of its very bright yellow colour and
its miscibility with water.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility. Waste gas
treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen, sulfur and sodium
containing compounds should be fitted (A661).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Discharge directly to sewage system or the aqueous
environment not recommended, particularly considering its
bright yellow colour.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
