Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse continuously with water for at least 15 minutes and

obtain medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water. Seek medical advice if irritation

develops.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, carbon dioxide, foam or dry chemical may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1).

Avoid dust formation e.g. spillages should be damped down

with water. Sweep up spill and transfer to labelled

containers and dispose of at a landfill site or by

incineration in accordance with local regulations.

Wash spill site with plenty of water. Waste water must be

directed to an on-site water treatment system.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Avoid inhalation, ingestion and skin and eye

contact.

Safety goggles (with sideshields), impervious gloves and

long sleeved protective clothing should be worn, conforming

to international or national standards. Local exhaust

ventilation and an appropriate respirator should also be

used.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be packaged in 10 kg lots in double

anti-static polythene bags inside fibre kegs (6 bags/kg).

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: 20 Litre Sphere Explosivity:

St Class: 2

Minimum Ignition Energy:

Dust cloud: < 2 mJ

Generation and accumulation of electrostatic charge is

considered likely to occur even when handled in an earthed

(grounded) environment. Under these conditions it is

considered that this material might present a risk of

producing an incendive electrostatic discharge.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not technically feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No treatment is practicable to neutralise the hazardous

environmental properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with

inert material (eg sand) may be disposed of by landfill at

an authorised tip in accordance with local regulations.

(A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. Waste gas treatment to remove oxides of

nitrogen should be fitted. (A661).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The neat substance should not normally be discharged to the

sewage system or the aqueous environment.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
