First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air and seek medical advice if necessary.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical
advice if necessary.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth. Give plenty of bland fluids and seek medical
advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam or dry powder are suitable.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen together with hydrogen cyanide and soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear a suitable breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear safety equipment as indicated at 2.3.1. Sweep up spilt
material and transfer to closed containers for disposal
using an approved incinerator. Do not allow waste material
to enter drains or sewers. Do not contaminate ponds, ditches
or waterways.

Handling and storage

Handling: Minimise exposure by use of engineering controls (eg dust
extraction) but if necessary wear protective overalls,
gloves and a powder mask (eg BS 2091).

Storage: Store in the original container, tightly closed in a cool

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery is not possible as all of the substance is
converted during use. Recovery from a spillage is not
recommended.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No chemical method of neutralising the known hazardous
effects is known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at an authorised landfill site by a licensed waste
disposal contractor is possible.

(A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: High temperature incineration is recommended. Flue gas
treatment, to remove nitrogen oxides, should be fitted.

(A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended, discharge to sewers and surface water
should be avoided.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
