Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Results and discussion

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
From the structural formulae of the main constituents of Boisiris, it can be concluded that the substance is not an oxidising substance. The constituents do not have the functional groups associated with oxidising properties. The oxygen present in the molecules is linked to carbon atoms only.

Therefore, it can be concluded beyond reasonable doubt that Boisiris is incapable of causing fire or enhance the risk of fire when in contact with combustible material. As such further testing is not needed.
