Description of key information

No determination of partition coefficient could be conducted for aurio(1+) 2,6,6-trimethylbicyclo[3.1.1]heptanethiolate due to the negligible solubility of the test item in both octanol and water. It is considered that the determination of partition coefficient is therefore neither valid nor relevant for this test item. An estimated log Kow of 4.22 has been calculated for the organic component using KOWWIN (USEPA 2010).

Additional information

Harlan Laboratories (2012) concluded that it was not possible to determine the partition coefficient of aurio(1+) 2,6,6-trimethylbicyclo[3.1.1]heptanethiolate using the shake-flask method (OECD 107) or the HPLC method (OECD 117), due to the negligible solubility of the test item in both octanol and water. An estimated log Kow of 4.22 has been calculated for the organic component using KOWWIN (USEPA 2010).
