Administrative data

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Avoid breathing dusts that may be generated by handling of the product. Remove the person from the exposed area to fresh air immediately. Get medical advice if adverse symptoms appear.

Eyes: Wash with large amounts of water or normal saline solution. Keep eyelid open with the finger. Get medical advice immediately.

Skin: Wash affected area with soap or mild detergent and large amount of water until no evidence of substance remains (15-20 minutes). Get medical advice if adverse symptoms appear.

Ingestion: If swallowed wash mouth with water, provided person if conscious. Do not induce vomiting. Treat symptomatically and supportively. Get medical advice immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: water spray, foam, dry powder or CO2.

Cool containers and the surrounding areas with water. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), protective equipments for eyes and face, boots, gloves, complying with the relevant EN standards.

Accidental release measures

Stop the leak, if it can be done safely. Remove all sources of ignition and heat. Wear appropriate protective equipment to minimize exposure to the substance.

No action shall be taken without suitable training. Evacuate non-emergency personnel to safe areas. Ventilate areas.

Recover the substance by suction system ; during recovering operations avoid raising dust and wear appropriate protective equipment; clean up in wet conditions and hold for waste disposal. Wash the area with water.

Prevent entry of the substance into waterways, drains and sewers and contact with soil. If the substance has entered waterways, sewers or has contaminated the soil, notify the relevant authorities.

Handling and storage

Handle away from sources of ignition and heat, in a well ventilated place. Grounding equipment is advisable.

Handle with care. Avoid contact with eye and skin. Avoid breathing dusts.

Wear suitable Personal Protection Equipment.

Keep the substance away from drains, surface or ground waters.

Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place away from heat.

Keep containers tightly closed and correctly labelled.  Protect from moisture.

Do not eat, drink and smoke in the working areas. Wash hands after handling the substance. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls:

Appropriate risk management measures, that must be adopted at the workplace, have to be selected and applied, following the risks assessment carried out by the employer, in connection with his working activity (according to Directive 98/24/EEC). Appropriate measures include: use of closed systems as far as possible; adequate ventilation to control worker exposure.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

Eye protection:       Wear safety glasses (EN166), if contact with eyes is possible.

Skin protection:       Wear appropriate protective gloves (EN374) and suitable protective equipment for the body (EN13982).

Respiratory protection:       Wear suitable respiratory equipment (mask for dusts complying with EN149; EN143), in case of not sufficient ventilation or high concentrations of dusts.

Stability and reactivity

The substance is stable at the normal conditions of temperature and pressure and if stored in closed containers in a well ventilated and cool place.

The substance reacts with oxidizing and reducing agents, strong acids and bases.
