Reference
The flash point of the substance was investigated in a study conducted according to the German DIN 51758 Determination of the flash point according to Pensky-Martens (closed cup). A flash point of 69 °C was determined.
Additionally the flash point of methylmercaptopropionaldehyde (MMP) containing 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% and 2.0% acetaldehyde, respectively, was determined according to DIN 51755 (Abel-Pensky) to be 46.0 °C, 40 °C, 31 °C and 25.5 °C.
Description of key information
61.1 to 69 °C at ca. 1013 hPa
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
- 61.1 °C
Additional information
The flash point of the substance was determined to be 69 °C (DIN 51758, Pensky-Martens closed cup), 63 °C (DIN 51755, Abel-Pensky closed cup) and 61.1 °C (ASTM D56, Tag closed cup)
