Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The solid substance shows no autoflammability according to the criteria of the EU method A.16. The molten substance shows an auto-ignition temperature of 365 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Inspite of the effect, that the substance is a solid with a melting point < 160°C, the A.16. test was accomplished to be sure, that no effects, which may inhibit a complete melting (like incrustations) under the test conditions can influence the result. Beside this, the A.16 test is similar to the Grewer oven test (VDI-Richtlinie 2263), which can be used as screening test for the self-heating property according the CLP regulation.

Also the A.15. test (concerning the auto flammability of a liquid) was accomplished, because TAA is frequently handled in the molten state.
