Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
28 Sep - 4 Oct 2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
GLP compliance:
no
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Storage conditions: ambient temperature (10 – 30 °C)
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions
Remarks:
no self-igniiton of test item up to 401 °C

Results
The test item showed an endothermic effect in the temperature range of 95 to 110 °C and a small exothermic effect was seen around 210 to 290 °C. No further endothermic nor exothermic effects were seen up to the final test temperature of 401 °C. The wire mesh cube was severely corroded at the end of the measurement.

Conclusion: No self-ignition temperature was observed up to a test temperature of 401 °C.

Description of key information

No self-ignition (EU Method A.16.)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a test according to EU Method A.16. no self-ignition was observed up to the test temperature of 401 °C.
