First-aid measures
4.1 Description of first aid measures
General advice When symptoms persist or in all cases of doubt seek medical
advice. Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
Inhalation Move to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician. In case of
respiratory arrest induce breathing with a respiratory device. Seek
medical advice. Keep patient warm and at rest.
Skin contact Wash off with soap and water. Take off contaminated clothing and
shoes immediately. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Eye contact Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at
least 15 minutes. If eye irritation or redness persists, see an
ophthalmologist.
Ingestion Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a physician or poison control center
immediately. Rinse mouth. Do not induce vomiting or give anything
by mouth to an unconscious person.
4.2 Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
4.3 Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treatment Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
5.1 Extinguishing media
Suitable Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon
dioxide.
5.2 Special hazards arising
from the substance or
mixture
In the event of fire the following may be released:, Carbon dioxide
(CO2), Carbon monoxide (CO), Hydrogen chloride (HCl), Nitrogen
oxides (NOx)
5.3 Advice for firefighters
Special protective
equipment for fire-fighters
In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Further information Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water spray. Contain the
spread of the fire-fighting media. Do not allow run-off from fire
fighting to enter drains or water courses.
Accidental release measures
6.1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Precautions Remove all sources of ignition. Avoid contact with spilled product or
contaminated surfaces. Use personal protective equipment. Ensure
adequate ventilation.
6.2 Environmental
precautions
Do not allow to get into surface water, drains and ground water.
6.3 Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
Methods for cleaning up Use mechanical handling equipment. Collect and transfer the
product into a properly labelled and tightly closed container. Avoid
dust formation. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly,
observing environmental regulations.
6.4 Reference to other
sections
Information regarding personal protective equipment, see section 8.
Information regarding waste disposal, see section 13.
Handling and storage
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Processor/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.
7.1 Precautions for safe handling
Advice on safe handling Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Use only in area provided
with appropriate exhaust ventilation. Avoid dust formation.
Advice on protection
against fire and explosion
Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.
Hygiene measures Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Keep working clothes
separately. Wash hands immediately after work, if necessary take a
shower. Remove soiled clothing immediately and clean thoroughly
before using again. Garments that cannot be cleaned must be
destroyed (burnt). Wash hands before breaks and immediately after
handling the product.
7.2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Requirements for storage
areas and containers
Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated
place. Keep away from direct sunlight.
Advice on common storage Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs.
