Administrative data

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Remove from exposure, lie down. Move to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Obtain medical attention.

Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention.

Skin contact: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water removing all contaminated clothes and shoes. If skin irritation persists, call a physician.

Ingestion: Drink plenty of water. Treat symptomatically. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label. Do not induce vomiting.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2), water spray, dry chemical, alcohol-resistant foam.

Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: High volume water jet.

Specific methods: Combustible material. Cool containers/tanks with water spray. Keep product and empty container away from heat and sources of ignition. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent product from entering drains.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus for fire fighting if necessary.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak.

Environmental precautions: Remove immediately adhering matter. Prevent product from entering drains. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Methods for cleaning up: Absorb spill with inert material (e.g. dry sand or earth), then place in a chemical waste container.

Handling and storage

Handling:

Technical measures/precautions: In accordance with local and national regulations. Use only in area provided with appropriate exhaust ventilation.

Safe handling advice: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wear personal protective equipment. Do not breathe vapours/dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use only in an area equipped with a safety shower.

Engineering measures: Local exhaust.

Storage:

Technical measures/precautions: In accordance with local and national regulations. Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Store in original container. Do not re-use empty containers.

Incompatible products: Do not store near acids.

Specific uses: Dispose of as special waste in compliance with local and national regulations. Keep at temperatures between 5-35 °C.

Suitable container materials for the direct contact with the active substance are HDPE drums and stainless steel tanks.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls:

Engineering measures: Local exhaust.

Environmental exposure controls: Prevent product from entering drains. Do not contaminate surface water. Avoid subsoil penetration.

Personal protection equipment:

Eye protection: Tightly-fitting safety goggles. Face-shield.

Hand protection: Neoprene gloves. Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.

Respiratory protection: In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with filter model. Self-contained breathing apparatus. (In case of higher concentrations). In accordance with local and national regulations.

Skin and body protection: Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place. Wear suitable protective equipment.

Stability and reactivity

Materials to avoid: Decomposes by reaction with strong acids. Corrosive in contact with metals.

Heating or fire can release toxic gas: Carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulphur oxides.

Disposal considerations

Waste from residues/unused products: Dispose of in accordance with local regulations. Waste codes should be assigned by the user based on the application for which the product was used. Classified as hazardous waste according to national equivalent of EC Directive 91/689; disposal of toxic and hazardous waste.

Contaminated packaging: Empty containers should be taken for local recycling, recovery or waste disposal.
