Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. When symptoms persist or in all cases of doubt seek medical advice.
Inhalation: Immediately move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Consult a physician.
Skin contact: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
Eye contact: Immediately flush eyes for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Drink plenty of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Dry chemical, Alcohol-resistant foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2),
Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons: High volume water jet, Water spray,
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Further information: Evacuate personnel and keep upwind of fire. In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Prevent fire extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or the ground water system.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Wear personal protective equipment. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak.
Environmental precautions: Avoid subsoil penetration. Do not contaminate water.
Methods for cleaning up: Dam up. Avoid moisture. Neutralise with the following product(s): soda ash. Clean with detergents. Avoid solvents. Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling: Wear personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Do not smoke.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Use explosion-proof equipment.
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Keep in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.
Advice on common storage: Keep away from: Flammable materials Strong oxidizing agents. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.
Other data: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Engineering measures: Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.
Respiratory protection: When workers are facing concentrations above the exposure limit they must use appropriate certified respirators. Provide adequate ventilation.
Hand protection: Neoprene gloves, Rubber gloves
Eye protection: Tightly fitting safety goggles
Skin and body protection: Apron Boots
Hygiene measures: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.
Protective measures: Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use.
Stability and reactivity
Materials to avoid: Water, Strong oxidizing agents, Metals
Hazardous decomposition products: Gaseous hydrogen chloride (HCl).
Hazardous reactions: Decomposes when moist. Heating can release hazardous gases. Stable under normal conditions.
Disposal considerations
Product: Disposal together with normal waste is not allowed. Special disposal required according to local regulations.
Contaminated packaging: Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal.
