Sample tested:
test mixture as specified
Remarks:
Composition of 2:1 ratio (A017 : Cellulose)
Parameter:
preliminary test
Result:
ca. 182 s
Remarks on result:

Remarks:
type. Comments : Large orange flame with black smoke. of reaction moderate

Moisture content determination (as weight loss) of a sample by drying at atmospheric pressure

Apparatus : Mettler Toledo HS153, electronic moisture analyser at 50°C for 1,4 minutes

Sample is tested as received.

Moisture content : 0.24% by weight (average of 2 runs)

Comments : test was terminated at both 100°C and 75°C and repeated at 50°C due to sample melting. Since the moisture content is < 0.5%, the sample does not need to be dried for the oxidising solids test.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test item is not an oxidising solids on the basis of a preliminary screening test (observation of the vigour and the duration of the burning in comparison with a reference mlixture).
Executive summary:

The substance A017 has been tested according to EU Method A17 ( Oxidising Properties for solids) and the GLP.

In the screening phase the burning of a mixture 2:1 of the substance with the cellulose is compared to a reference mixture. The molecular structure of the sample together with the reaction time observed during the preliminary screening test show that the test item is not an oxidising solid. Conduct of the full train test was therefore not required.

Description of key information

The test item is not an oxidising solids on the basis of a preliminary screening test (observation of the vigour and the duration of the burning in comparison with a reference mlixture).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

The substance A017 has been tested according to EU Method A17 ( Oxidising Properties for solids) and the GLP.

In the screening phase the burning of a mixture 2:1 of the substance with the cellulose is compared to a reference mixture. The molecular structure of the sample together with the reaction time observed during the preliminary screening test show that the test item is not an oxidising solid. Conduct of the full train test was therefore not required.
