Registret enligt bilaga III

Echa har sammanställt ett register över sådana ämnen som sannolikt uppfyller kriterierna i bilaga III till Reach-förordningen. Dess syfte är att göra det enklare för registranter att veta om deras ämne omfattas av de lägre minimikraven på information eller om de måste lämna fullständig information om ämnet enligt bilaga VII.

Registret har tagits fram med hjälp av offentligt tillgängliga databaser över experimentella data och genom att använda resultat av (Q)SAR-modellen. Information om farliga toxikologiska eller ekotoxikologiska egenskaper, om användningar och annan tillgänglig relevant information måste jämföras med kriterierna i bilaga III.

Att ett ämne inte är upptaget i förteckningen innebär inte nödvändigtvis att ämnet inte uppfyller kriterierna enligt bilaga III. På samma sätt kan registranten till ett ämne som finns upptaget i registret ändå omfattas av minimiinformationskravet om det finns fog för det.

Observera att registret inte är ett verktyg för klassificering, det visar bara indikationer för farhågor. Det faktum att ett ämne betecknas som "misstänkt mutagent" innebär t.ex. inte att Echa anser det vara klassificerat som mutagent. Samtliga belägg måste beaktas innan en slutsats dras om behovet av klassificering.
