- Details on study design:
- The test was conducted in 2 L glass flasks closed with screw caps from which carbon dioxide traps were suspended. Each flask was filled with 1 litre of medium inoculated with 10 mL of the supernatant of a settled sewage sludge. The medium was freed from carbon dioxide.
The test was run in duplicate for the medium blanks and the toxicity controls containing sodium acetate, and in quadruplicate for the two concentrations of test item. Incubation took place at 20°C an a rotary shaker in the Bark. - Reference substance:

- Conclusions:
- The test item was determined to be readily biodegradable.
- Executive summary:
The study on the ready biodegradability of the item was conducted according to OECD 301B and GLP. Test was performed using so-called sturm method. Two concentrations (15 mg test item/L and 30 mg test item/L) were tested and sodium acetate was used as reference substance in the process control and toxicity control. The production of CO2 was measured and used as the parameter to calculate the percentage of the biodegradation. Under the test condition, 72-74% of the carbon from the test compound was released as carbon dioxide (leaving about 30% for growth of micro-organisms), the test item was considered as readily biodegradable.

Description of key information
A study on the ready biodegradability of the item is available. The study was conducted according to OECD 301B (so-called sturm method) and GLP.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Biodegradation in water:
- readily biodegradable
- Type of water:
