Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

In compliance with the EU Method A.10 (oxidising properties solids) preliminary and main tests were performed to determine the oxidizing properties of TBD. In the preliminary test, some little flames were observed near the metal wire for a few seconds. Then, a glowing red burning with white smokes were observed. The glowing red burning stopped progressively until about 8 minutes. The cone was entirely blackened.

The result of the preliminary test was uncertain, so it was necessary to carry out the full train test (main test).

The test was repeated five times:

The maximum burning rate obtained with the test item was: 2.99 mm/s for the test item / cellulose mixture (10/90).

The maximum burning rate obtained with the reference item was: 3.17 mm/s for the reference item / cellulose mixture (40/60 and 50/50).

The maximum burning rate of test item / cellulose mixture was slower than the maximum burning rate with reference item / cellulose mixture.

Trilead bis(carbonate) dihydroxide was not considered to have oxidizing properties under the experimental conditions.
