Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
No experimental toxicokinetic study is available on Reaction mass of dodecyl and tridecyl acrylate.
However, as per REACH guidance document R7.C (2014), information on absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion may be deduced from the physicochemical properties.
Based on the toxicological data and the physicochemical properties, the absorption of Reaction mass of dodecyl and tridecyl acrylate is expected to be low by oral, dermal and inhalation exposure.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Bioaccumulation potential:
- no bioaccumulation potential
- Absorption rate - oral (%):
- 100
- Absorption rate - dermal (%):
- 10
- Absorption rate - inhalation (%):
- 100
Additional information
No experimental toxicokinetic study is available on Reaction mass of dodecyl and tridecyl acrylate.
However, as per REACH guidance document R7.C (2014), information on absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion may be deduced from the physicochemical properties, including:
-Mean molecular weight: [240 - 255] g/mol
-Water solubility: 0.016 mg/L
-Partition coefficient Log Kow: > 6.5
-Vapour pressure: 0.332 Pa (25°C)
ABSORPTION
The high value of log Kow (>4) and the very low solubility (<100 mg/L) of Reaction mass of dodecyl and tridecyl acrylate are favorable for a low oral absorption. However 100% of absorption is taken into account for the risk assessment (worst case).
With a solubility of 0.016 mg/L, dermal absorption is anticipated to be very low. A Log Kow higher above to 6 suggests that the rate of transfer between the stratum corneum and the epidermis will be slow and will limit absorption accross the skin. However, a molecular mass smaller than 500 g/mol are favourable to a dermal absorption. The acrylates are known to bind to skin components, and this binding decreases their dermal absorption. Indeed, the dermal absorption of Reaction mass of dedecyl and tridecyl acrylate is anticipated to be low. That's why 10% of absorption is taken into account for the risk assessment (worst case).
Based on the low vapour pressure value (0.332 Pa), Reaction mass of dodecyl and tridecyl acrylate is considered to be not a volatile substance (because lower than 100 Pa). Indeed, the absorption by inhalation can be expected to be low for Reaction mass of dodecyl and tridecyl acrylate based on the values of water solubility and log kow. However 100% of absorption is taken into account for the risk assessment (worst case).
DISTRIBUTION and METABOLISM
No specific data is available on the distribution or metabolism of Reaction mass of dodecyl and tridecyl acrylate.
ELIMINATION
Due to the low water solubility, the excretion of Reaction mass of dodecyl and tridecyl acrylate in the urines is expected to be low. An excretion via bile and faeces is possible.
