Administrative data
First-aid measures
If inhaled: Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention.
On skin contact: Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water.
On contact with eyes: Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 10 minutes under running water with eyelids held open, or use if available Previn-solution or PEG for eye washing, then wash additionally for 3 minutes with water. Consult an eye specialist.
On ingestion: Do not cause sickness. Seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Fire-fighting measures
Not suitable extinguishing media: alcohol not resistant foam, water in full spray ( danger of distribution)
Further information: Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire. Collect contaminated extinguishing water separately, do not allow to reach sewage or effluent systems.
Accidental release measures
Environmental precautions: Do not discharge into the subsoil/soil. Do not discharge into drains/surface waters/groundwater.
Methods for cleaning up or taking up: For large amounts: Dam up and pump off product.
For residues: Pick up with suitable absorbent material
Further information: Explosion hazard. If product has been attained drains inform fire service and water protection authorities.
Handling and storage
Product may form explosive gas-air mixtures. Keep breathing apparatuses available. Take precautionary measures against static discharges; ground/bond all devices. Use non-sparking tools. Perform work on pipelines and containers only after thoroughly flushing and inertizing them.
Use tightly sealed units with vapour recovery or extraction systems. If possible, store under nitrogen.
Suitable material: steel or stainless steel. Prior to choosing construction material, please obtain special information.
Prevent the product from entering into ducts and channels.
Keep away from heat and ignition sources. Provide fire-extinguishing equipment. Use explosion-proof electrical equipment.
Storage
Keep the product cool. Protect it from overheating/heating. Do not store near sources of heat (steam lines, heating, open fire).
Prevent the product from entering into ducts and channels.
Use closed steel or stainless steel containers/tanks.
Avoid contact with strong oxidants, acids and alkalis. Storing the product with medicines, foodstuff or animal feed is forbidden.
The Aromatic Fraction should not be stored together with substances with which dangerous chemical reactions are possible.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Keep food in a way that it does not come into contact with the dangerous substance. Avoid inhalation of vapours and skin and eye contact. Remove soaked clothing. Strictly observe personal hygiene.
Respiratory protection
If the substance may be released (accidentally), wear respiratory protection. Observe the limitations on wearing time! Respiratory protective device: Gas filter A, brown colour, or ABEK/P3. For information regarding the preconditions and maximum concentrations for use see the "Regeln für den Einsatz von Atemschutzgeräten" (BGR 190) [Use of respiratory protective devices]. Respiratory protection: self-contained breathing apparatus. To be used at concentrations above the usage limit for filter appliances, in case of oxygen content below 17 vol% or under unclear conditions.
Skin protection
Preventative skin protection necessary. Clean skin before breaks and at the end of the shift with water and soap. Apply fatty skin-care products after skin cleaning.
Hand protection
Use gloves. The glove material shall be sufficiently resistant and impermeable for the substance handled. Prior to use, check for tightness.
Pre-clean gloves prior to taking them off, then store well-ventilated. Textile or leather gloves are totally unsuitable. Suitable glove materials: (breakthrough time >= 8 hours): Fluorine rubber – FKM (0.4 mm).
Gloves made of the following materials are not suitable: Natural rubber/natural latex – NR; polychloroprene – CR; nitrile rubber/nitrile latex – NBR; polyvinyl chloride – PVC, butyl caoutchouc – Butyl.
Eye protection
Wear sufficient eye protection. Wear frame goggles with lateral shields. If there is a potential of the liquid getting into contact with the eyes, wear splash goggles.
Body protection
Flame-retardant, anti-static protective clothing; sturdy, closed shoes. Depending on the actual danger wear boots and chemical protection suit. Protective clothing shall be solvent-resistant.
Observe wearing time limitations!
Check personal protective equipment for damage prior to using them.
Stability and reactivity
Product may form explosive gas-air mixtures.
Disposal considerations
Disposal through: special waste incineration (Sonderabfallverbrennung – SAV). Collecting containers shall be clearly marked with the systematic description of their content and the relevant hazardous goods identification.
Keep containers in a well-ventilated place. Hand over to the competent company for waste disposal.
