First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air. Obtain medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with large volumes of water for at least 15 minutes.
Do not remove contact lenses if worn. Obtain medical
attention
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with soap and
water. If irritation develops obtain medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Alcohol-type or all purpose foam extinguishers should be
used for large fires. Water spray, carbon dioxide or dry
chemical media extinguishers may be used on small fires.
Solid water stream or foam should not be directed into hot
burning pools of the product; this leads to frothing and an
increase in fire intensity. Burning materials may produce a
floating fire hazard.
Product arising from burning: Complete combustion yields water and carbon dioxide.
Incomplete combustion may yield carbon dioxide and other
organic products.

Protective equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus and fire resistant
clothing should be used.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear eye and skin protection. Spills should be contained
with inert materials (sand,earth) to avoid discharge into
water (rivers, streams, water collection areas) Liquid and
solid diking material should be transferred to suitable
containers for disposal.
Water should not be used to flush away spills to avoid
gelling and foaming.
Handling and storage
Handling: Mechanical room ventilation should be used for general area
control. Workers should wear PVC coated protective gloves
and monogoggles at all times.
Storage: May be stored long-term in original high density
polyethylene (HDPE) factory packed drums at or below 50°C,
with the exclusion of water and the headspace of the
containers filled with Nitrogen. The same conditions apply
to stainless steel containers which may be used to store
larger quantities. Slow oxidative degradation of the product
occurs on storage in air, and agitation and heat accelerate
this decomposition.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 55 gallon (208 l) open head steel drums. Stainless steel is
recommended for bulk shipments.

HDPE drums are used for quality purposes for the surfactant
used in metal cleaning.
