Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance to be registered as such is a solid. It is, however, only stable in presence of significant concentrations of free acetic acid. The registration substance as such cannot be isolated. Therefore, the substance is characterized as liquid substance with red colour.

Further physico-chemical characteristics of the registration substance are described by means of read-across from the structural analogue. For details and justification of read-across please refer to the report attached in section 13 of IUCLID.

The structural analogue is a solid with a relative density of 1.26 and a vapour pressure of 3.4 x 10-7 hPa at 20 °C.

It has a melting range of 185 – 190 °C. The boiling point, however, could not be determined as the substance directly after melting at approximately 220 °C.

It is highly soluble in water (132 g/L at 20 °C) and has surface-active properties. The partition coefficient log Pow is 0.3.

Based on available testing results the test item is not a "self-heating substance", is non-flammable, non-explosive and non-oxidising.
